Hello Fellow Foodies & Michael Angelo's Lovers, :)

Here is a wonderfully simple home baked bread recipe. This recipe is a delicious twist on traditional Garlic Bread.

The recipe is virtually fail proof, even for those of you who've never tried baking a loaf of homemade bread.

You will need:

5 cups flour

1 TBSP sugar

1 TBSP salt

TWO packages RAPID RISE yeast

8 to 10 cloves fresh garlic, peeled & diced

2 cups HOT water. The water temperature must be between 125 - 130 degrees. For accuracy, use a food thermometer.

1 egg white

1 tsp. sea salt

1 large plastic bowl

1 plastic or wooden spoon

1 cookie sheet

Parchment paper

1 cup ice cubes

1 oven safe pie plate

*note* Metal bowls and utensils may affect the yeast's ability to rise. For best results, use plastic or wooden utensils.

In large plastic bowl, thoroughly mix dry ingredients and diced garlic. While gently stirring with wooden or plastic spoon, slowly add 2 cups of warm water.

Mix ingredients directly in the bowl until a soft dough forms. Flour your hands and gently knead the dough, folding and kneading: 5 minutes.

Cover with plastic wrap or a clean dish towel & set aside for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, flour your hands and knead and fold dough for a 2nd time: 5 minutes.

Divide dough in 2. Form into 2 long, thin loaves.

Cover cookie sheet with parchment paper. If you don't have parchment paper, lightly grease the pan. Place the 2 loaves on the cookie sheet and cover with plastic wrap or clean dish towel. Let sit for 35 - 40 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees

Brush loaves with egg white & sprinkle with sea salt.

Fill a pie plate or other oven safe dish with ice cubes.
Place this on the lowest oven rack. The ice creates steam which will give the bread some crunch.

Bake the bread on the middle rack

22 minutes @ 425 degrees

Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.

Serve with your favorite Michael Angelo's Entree.
