Thanksgiving...Our family getting together, lots of food, laugter and love. My mother and father had a tradition to invite someone who had no place to go. I continued that tradition. One Thanksgiving I invited a bunch of people who would've been either eating in a restaurant or, as one said, "Swanson's Frozen Turkey Dinner." I found out later that one of the people I had invited not only didn't have a place to go to, but was living in his car in the school parking lot where many of us were teaching. The Thanksgiving dinner he had at my house was his first home cooked meal in about three months. I had given him loads of leftovers, and I'm so glad I did.
